The Amazonian Workshop on Material Science and Spectroscopy (AWMS²) was settled as a annual and introductory meeting with the aim to give, to local professionals and students, the opportunity to establish contact with recognized researchers from the area.

                          The AWMS² is organized  by the experimental groups (GEEV and GFMA) of the graduate program in Physics from Federal University of Pará in association with Brazilian Material Society University Chapter – PA, as part of the local effort to enhance the research activities on material science and spectroscopy in our region.

             The AWMS² is held in the Universidade Federal do Pará, at the campus of the city of Belém, the capital of Pará State.
